Burton Dassett Parish Council
The Parish Council is made up of elected and (sometimes) co-opted parishioners and is responsible for an ever-increasing array of local services. It meets at 7.15pm on the third Monday of every second month (January, March, May, July, September and November). Venues alternate between Knightcote Village Hall and Temple Herdewyke School.
In order to maintain the local services for which it is responsible, the Parish Council sets a Precept or Parish Rate which is collected as part of your Council Tax. Details of this are shown in page 2 of the Annual Return under the red Financial button in the main button bar or by clicking on the word link.
Notice of Parish Meetings is published in advance on the notice board in each of the parish’s villages (and on this website under the Next Meeting red button or through the word link) and members of the public are encouraged to attend. A period of time is set aside at the beginning of every meeting for public attendees to raise any issue they feel appropriate. If necessary the matter is then placed on the agenda for the next meeting.
In addition there is the Annual Parish Meeting, held in the Spring, at which anyone may speak on subjects of concern to the parish.
