FAMILIES CENTRE
A friendly and homely environment where mothers and fathers of under 5's can meet for coffee and a chat and their children can socialize with others.  The group is set up with a committee, and is on the constant lookout for new members from both military and civilian families.  It is open to all the local villages and meets every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 09.30am - 12.00 midday. PLANNING APPLICATIONS
The Planning Authority for the area is Stratford District Council. Copies of planning applications are sent to the Parish Council for local consultation, to be returned to Stratford within the allotted time. The District Council also informs immediate neighbours of any proposed development. The applications may also have a site notice and advertisement in the local newspaper. REFUSE
Collection day for the whole parish is Wednesday including Bank Holiday weeks. The system works on a two-week cycle, with recyclable and garden refuse collected one week and non-recyclable refuse the next. Certain large items which cannot be removed on normal collections can be collected at a charge by special arrangement. Click here for contact details.

Household and garden refuse can also be taken to the transfer site at Loxley Road, Wellesbourne. Alternatively, there is a Recycling Plant at Princes Drive, Leamington Spa.

SCHOOLS
The parish is served by the Dassett Primary School and Temple Herdewyke Primary School. The first of these accepts children in the September after their 4th birthday and the latter accepts them in September of the year they reach 5. PLAYING FIELDS
The Parish Council owns a playing field with a children’s playground, located at the Prebend in Northend. In addition there is a children’s play area at knightcote and another for small children at Temple Herdewyke.

POST OFFICE
A Sub-Post-Office operates from Northend Village Hall on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9.00am to 1.00pm. There’s also a Sub-Post-Office operating from Fenny Compton Village Hall on Monday, Wednesday and friday mornings from 9.00am to 10.00am. Other nearest Post Offices are at Bishop’s Itchington, Southam and Kineton.

SPORTS & LEISURE CENTRES
The Spiceball Centre in Banbury has 25m and 20m swimming pools, a 150 station gym, a sports hall, 2 squash courts, 2 exercise studios, sauna, steam room and spa, a creche, cafe and childrens soft play area. Click here for contact information.
